I have a magnificent obsession, to see you as I pray.
To carry Your spirit forth with me, to every part of the day.

I have a love I can’t contain, a love I now must share.
It is to obey Your every command, and let You carry all care.

I take up my cross, I bear Your shame, its mine, its mine, its mine!
I find that fewer walk this way, with the passing time.

I see the evil being done, while carelessly they shout,
Of your glory, yet all the while, their ways have left You out.

Like Abraham of old, I seek no city, with my name.
I look for city that is Yours, a place of Your great fame.

I have a magnificent obsession, It is to see your face.
To love Your every way, in each and every place.

I have a magnificent obsession, Our inheritance in You.
Let it be found through my faith, in generations new.

From pit, to prison, to palace, or where ere You might lead.
Be it a lion’s den, or desert, there to hear a serpent plead.

Be it a road where I’m found blinded, Or the road where You teach all.
I have a magnificent obsession, I’ve had it since first I called.

I called on You, because I found, that You had first loved me.
And now You’ve called a people, who will walk fully free.

Oh Lord Jesus, Lord God, Father, Friend, Lord Spirit.
I offer up this Worship, restore faith as men hear it.
